Job summary

The Avenues Group is seeking a Bank Support Worker to join our PBS service in Hildenborough, Tonbridge. You’ll assist five men with learning disabilities, autism and communication needs, helping them live more independently with dignity.

This zero-hours role requires a driving licence with access to a vehicle due to the rural location, and a proactive, person-centred approach to enable meaningful daily activities and community involvement.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting people with learning disabilities and autism.
  • Knowledge of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) approaches.
  • Calm, patient, and emotionally resilient in challenging situations.
  • Ability to build positive, trusting relationships with individuals.
  • Strong communication and teamwork to deliver person-centred support.

Responsibilities

  • Support people to live independently while promoting dignity and respect.
  • Provide person-centred support tailored to individual needs and aspirations.
  • Assist with daily living tasks including cooking, shopping and finances.
  • Provide personal care where required.
  • Apply PBS approaches to understand and respond to behaviours of concern.
  • Encourage community participation and meaningful relationships.
  • Collaborate with families and professionals to achieve outcomes.
  • Help people achieve personal goals and live the life they choose.

About the Role

We're looking for Bank Support Workers to join our specialist Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) service in Hildenborough, supporting five men with learning disabilities, autism, communication needs and behaviours of concern.

This is a rewarding but highly specialist role, where your experience, approach and values will have a direct impact on the lives of the people we support. For this role it is required to have some mode of transport e.g driving licence with access to a vehicle or motorbike as this service is in a very rural location.

You'll understand that behaviour is a form of communication and will be confident in using proactive, person-centred approaches that promote dignity, independence and positive outcomes. You'll know how important consistency is and recognise that the relationships you build can significantly improve a person's confidence, wellbeing and overall quality of life.

The people we support deserve the opportunity to live fulfilling lives, develop new skills, access their communities and make meaningful choices. As part of our team, you'll play a key role in making this happen every single day.

What You'll Be Doing
