Job summary

Avenues in Hildenborough, Tonbridge is seeking a Bank Support Worker to assist five men with learning disabilities, autism and communication needs. A rural setting requires access to a vehicle or transport; prior PBS experience is valued.

The role is contract, zero hours, with a wage of £12.71 per hour. You’ll support daily living, personal care and community integration, promoting dignity and independence in a compassionate team.

About the Role

We’re looking for Bank Support Workersto join our specialistPositive Behaviour Support (PBS)service in Hildenborough, supporting five men with learning disabilities, autism, communication needs and behaviours of concern.

This is a rewarding but highly specialist role, where your experience, approach and values will have a direct impact on the lives of the people we support. For this role it is required to have some mode of transport e.g driving licence with access to a vehicle or motorbike as this service is in a very rural location.

You’ll understand that behaviour is a form of communication and will be confident in using proactive, person-centred approaches that promote dignity, independence and positive outcomes. You’ll know how important consistency is and recognise that the relationships you build can significantly improve a person’s confidence, wellbeing and overall quality of life.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Supporting people to live independently while promoting choice, dignity and respect.

• Providing personal care where required.
• Using Positive Behaviour Support approaches to understand and respond to behaviours of concern.

• Working collaboratively with colleagues, families and professionals to achieve the best outcomes.
• Helping people achieve personal goals and live the life they choose.
