Job summary

CareTech Group is seeking a Male Support Worker in Folkestone to provide person-centred support to adults with learning disabilities, autism, and mental health needs. The role is permanent, 35 hours per week on a rota, with Evening and weekend shifts and sleep-ins.

You will aid daily living, promote independence, and help individuals access community activities, while maintaining accurate records. Full training and induction are provided.

Male Support Worker

Location: Folkestone, Kent
Rate: £13.03 per hour + £78.30 sleep in rate

About the Service – Grosvenor Court

Grosvenor Court is a 13 Bedded Residential Home for Learning Disabilities, majority are all wheelchair bound and require hoisting etc., there is a lot of personal care involved as the majority are doubly incontinent. Easy access to public transport. Close to local shops, with a well-maintained garden.

Service User Interests

The people we support enjoy a wide range of activities, and Support Workers play a vital role in enabling these experiences, including:

• Arts and crafts
• Enjoy trips to the Park and Cinema
• Sensory Sessions

The Role

You will:

• Deliver person-centred support in line with individual support plans
• Assist with daily living skills and personal care where required
• Promote independence, dignity, and wellbeing
• Support activities, appointments, and community access
• Maintain accurate records and work effectively as part of a team
• Work a rota including evenings, weekends, bank holidays, and sleep-ins

Who We’re Looking For

We’re seeking people who are caring, patient, and respectful, with a positive and resilient approach. You should be confident working independently and within a team, have good communication skills, basic IT and written abilities, and be flexible and reliable.

No previous experience? No problem! If you have the passion, we’ll provide full training and a structured induction programme.

Requirements

• Willingness to work towards Level 2 in Health and Social Care
• Ability to work unsociable hours on a rota basis
• Drivers desirable but not essential
• Enhanced DBS required (paid for by CareTech)
