Job summary

Templeton House Care Home in Ayr is seeking a Senior Care Assistant to lead a care team and deliver safe, high-quality, person-centred care to residents.

You will manage shift handovers, oversee medication administration, monitor wellbeing, and keep accurate records while communicating with families and healthcare professionals.

We look for SVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (Level 3 desirable), medication training, and strong leadership and communication skills; PVG paid and uniform provided.

Qualifications

• SVQ Level 2 Health & Social Care (minimum)
• SVQ Level 3 desirable or willingness to work towards
• Medication administration training with competency
• Experience supporting or leading a care team is beneficial
• Strong communication and leadership skills

Senior Care Assistant Contract

• £14.00 per hour
• Contracted to Bank hours per week - flexible hours available - family friendly working hours available
• Paid PVG, uniform provided

Role Overview

As Senior Care Assistant, you will guide and support your team in delivering safe, high quality, person centred care that makes a real difference every day to our residents.

You will take responsibility for the smooth running of your shift, ensuring care is well organised, consistent and delivered to a high standard. Alongside providing hands on care, you will oversee medication, monitor residents’ wellbeing and respond to any changes, ensuring care remains safe and appropriate.

You will maintain accurate care records and work closely with colleagues, families and healthcare professionals to ensure clear communication and continuity of care.

We Are Looking For

• SVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (minimum), with Level 3 desirable or willingness to work towards
• Medication administration training with competency is essential
• Experience supporting or leading a care team is beneficial
• Strong communication and leadership skills
