Job summary

Templeton House Care Home in Ayr is seeking a Senior Care Assistant on a bank contract, with days and nights available. You will help lead a small team to deliver safe, person-centred care for up to 69 residents in a warm, home-like setting.

Key duties include overseeing medication, monitoring residents’ wellbeing, maintaining accurate care records, and communicating with families and healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care.

Qualifications

• SVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care minimum.
• Level 3 desirable or willingness to work towards.
• Medication administration training with competency essential.
• Experience supporting or leading a care team.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.

Senior Care Assistant Contract

• £14.00 per hour
• Contracted to Bank hours per week - flexible hours available - family friendly working hours available
• Paid PVG, uniform provided

Role Overview

As Senior Care Assistant, you will guide and support your team in delivering safe, high quality, person centred care that makes a real difference every day to our residents.

You will take responsibility for the smooth running of your shift, ensuring care is well organised, consistent and delivered to a high standard. Alongside providing hands on care, you will oversee medication, monitor residents’ wellbeing and respond to any changes, ensuring care remains safe and appropriate.

You will maintain accurate care records and work closely with colleagues, families and healthcare professionals to ensure clear communication and continuity of care.

We Are Looking For

• SVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (minimum), with Level 3 desirable or willingness to work towards
• Medication administration training with competency is essential
• Experience supporting or leading a care team is beneficial
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• A caring, compassionate and professional approach
