Job summary

Sanctuary Supported Living in Ipswich is seeking a Bank Senior Care and Support Assistant to join our compassionate team at 248 Sidegate Lane, Ipswich IP4 3DH. The role supports people with mental health needs, promoting independence and safety within a not-for-profit framework.

You will lead a team of Care and Support Assistants, provide personal care, handle medication safely, and create care plans, with benefits including generous annual leave, sick pay, and a contributory pension.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising a team.
• Personalised approach to care with strong interpersonal skills.
• Recent experience supporting vulnerable people in a similar role.
• Enthusiastic and flexible approach.
• Strong organisational skills and basic literacy and numeracy.
• Understanding of relevant legislation and best practice.
• NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or willingness to work towards it.
• Proficient technology/IT skills (Microsoft Office and similar).

Responsibilities

• Work closely with staff to provide personal care and support, helping customers build independence and confidence.
• Handle medication safely and responsibly.
• Build positive relationships with customers and colleagues.
