Job summary

Optegra Eye Health Care in Leicester is seeking a Bank Ward Nurse to join our private Leicester Eye Hospital. This zero-hour contract offers flexible shifts to suit your life while delivering high-quality ophthalmic care.

You will be involved in the full Ophthalmic Surgical pathway, providing skilled clinical and technical assistance as part of the operating theatre team, including peri-operative and post-operative care in the surgical/refractive suites.

Qualifications

• Registered General Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner required.
• Current NMC/ODP registration with no restrictions.
• Qualification in Ophthalmology or Perioperative care.
• Minimum one year experience in an Ophthalmology Theatre.
• Knowledge of private and operating settings.

Responsibilities

• Participate in all aspects of the Ophthalmic Surgical pathway.
• Provide skilled clinical and technical assistance as part of the operating theatre team; peri-operative and post-operative care in the hospital's surgical/refractive suites.

The Role

You will be responsible for participating in all aspects of the Ophthalmic Surgical pathway at Optegra. It goes without saying that you’ll be passionate about provide excellent care to all patients. You will have specific responsibility for providing skilled clinical and technical assistance as a member of the operating theatre team. This will also include peri-operative and post-operative care in the surgical and refractive suite of the hospital.

What You’ll Need

• Be a Registered General Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner
• Have a current NMC/ODP registration with no restrictions
• A qualification in Ophthalmology or Peri operative care
• Previous experience in an Ophthalmology Theatre, minimum of one year
• Have knowledge in private and operation settings.
