Job Description

Cragston Court is a 20-bedded residential rehabilitation and recovery unit caring for adults over 18 with enduring mental health needs. Located in Blakelaw, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, service users are referred from psychiatric wards, the community, or placements where they haven't made a sustained recovery.

Main Duties
  1. Provide practical support and responsive care to service users supporting their rehabilitation and recovery, ensuring compliance with procedures and healthcare legislation.
  2. Observe and monitor residents' wellbeing, promptly referring any unusual physical, mental, or emotional occurrences to senior staff or the primary nurse, and documenting appropriately.
  3. Perform specific interventions delegated by a Registered Nurse, including observation, engagement, escorting to appointments, and involvement in de-escalation and violence management, following training and competency attainment.
  4. Contribute to a team approach in residential care alongside multidisciplinary team members.
  5. Participate in regular team meetings and other relevant meetings as requested.
