Job summary

Circle Health Group Limited in Glasgow is seeking a Pharmacy Assistant to join the Pharmacy department on a bank (as needed) basis. The role involves assisting with preparation and labelling of medicines, stock checking, and data entry, supporting safe medicine distribution to wards and departments.

Bank shifts require readiness to cover busy periods and staff leave, with an emphasis on accuracy, teamwork and patient service.

Qualifications

• Good general education including literacy and numeracy skills.
• Experience in a customer service, healthcare, or stock-handling role.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• Attention to detail and commitment to safe working practices.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and under supervision.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and labelling of medicines for inpatients, outpatients, and discharge prescriptions under appropriate supervision.
• Support the safe supply of medicines, ensuring accurate picking, packing, and distribution to wards and departments.
• Monitor stock levels and expiry dates, helping maintain accurate inventory across the pharmacy and clinical areas.
• Assist with the completion of relevant records, prescription tracking, and data entry on pharmacy systems.
• Respond to basic enquiries from patients, nursing staff, or other colleagues in a professional and helpful manner.
• Adhere to all health and safety, infection prevention, and medicines management protocols.
