Job summary

Wirral Met College is seeking Learning Support Assistants to support our Additional Learning Support department on an ad hoc basis. Bank staff are paid at an hourly rate.

The role involves assisting students with learning needs across various curriculum areas and collaborating with tutors to provide effective support. Responsibilities include supporting individuals or groups, maintaining tracking records, and contributing to student reviews to help learners achieve their goals.

Qualifications

• Level 2 or above English/literacy qualifications.
• Level 2 or above Maths/numeracy qualifications.
• Experience of MS Office packages: Word, PowerPoint, Outlook.
• Be able to support young people and adults with learning difficulties and/or disabilities in a variety of settings.
• Be able to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of how to work with other professionals to support learning.

Responsibilities

• To provide appropriate support for individual or groups of students in/out of class, in accordance with their individual support plan, so that they achieve their learning goals.
• To work with subject and ALS tutors to ensure appropriate and effective support to meet individual student needs.
• To contribute to the maintenance of all necessary tracking and monitoring documentation (e.g. daily records; student reviews).
