Job summary

Cygnet St Teilo House in Rhymney, Wales, is looking for a kitchen assistant to support our 23-bed service delivering balanced meals. You should have catering experience, ideally in a care setting, and be a reliable team member who communicates well.

You will handle food prep, dishwashing, stock checks, and maintain hygiene. The role offers £13 per hour plus 12.1% annual leave, with enhanced DBS check required.

• Excellent communicator at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Assist team in providing balanced, appetising meals.
• Perform basic food preparation, cooking tasks & other kitchen duties.
• Wash utensils, dishes & ensure they are stored appropriately.
• Sort, store & distribute ingredients, check deliveries and assist stock ordering.
• Maintain personal hygiene and ensure the kitchen is clean & hygienic.
• Handle, maintain & store kitchen equipment in accordance with procedures.
• Use chemicals in line with COSHH regulations.

  Located in the village of Rhymney, amid the beautiful Welsh countryside, Cygnet St Teilo House is a 23-bed service specialising in high support inpatient rehabilitation (level 2) for women in a safe and comfortable environment. Cygnet St Teilo House has been designed to provide an environment that promotes recovery for women with its focus on space, personal privacy and dignity.

Your Day-to-Day... Salary: £13 per hour +12.1% annual leave
