Job summary

SeeAbility in Redhill is seeking a compassionate Support Worker to help a young woman with complex health needs, including autism and learning disabilities, live independently.

You’ll provide daily living support, assist with communication (Makaton & PECS), mobility and emotional wellbeing, and accompany day services and community outings; a 2:1 support ratio is typical.

This is a physical, hands-on role offering stability, training and a values-led team that values patience, consistency and care.

Qualifications

• Strong English communication skills (spoken & written).
• Previous experience in a care/support setting.
• The ability to work long shifts (12 hours+).
• A valid manual UK driving licence.
• The legal right to live and work in the UK.

• Support daily routines from morning to bedtime.
• Plan and enjoy person-centred activities — walks, swimming, shopping and trips out.

Who You’ll Be Supporting

We’re looking for a compassionate, resilient support worker to join a young woman on her exciting move to her own apartment. She has complex health needs including autism, learning disabilities, and RCDP, and is seeking someone experienced, patient, and positive to support her with daily living, communication (Makaton & PECS), mobility, and emotional wellbeing.

She loves rollerblading in Battersea Park and is a huge fan of Christmas music, so if you’re calm, consistent, and don’t mind a bit of repetition, you’ll fit right in!

You’ll support her during day services and community outings on a 2:1 basis. A manual UK driving licence is essential.

We’re looking for someone with experience in at least two of the following:

• Rhizomelic Chondrodysplasia Punctata (RCDP)
• Autism & severe learning disabilities
• Physical disabilities (wheelchair user)
• Behaviours that challenge
• Resilience
