Shaw healthcare is seeking a Chef at Llys Hafren Care Home in Welshpool to prepare and serve nutritious meals for residents. The role supports dietary needs, cultural preferences, and special events, under a bank contract including weekend shifts.

You will ensure food safety records are maintained and lead a catering team in a care setting. As part of the UK's largest employee-owned healthcare company, you will contribute to delivering high-quality meals while upholding the Real Living Wage

• Experience in preparing high-quality meals for residents.
• Ability to plan nutritious menus considering dietary needs and cultural preferences.
• Experience leading a catering team or kitchen staff.

• Preparing, cooking and serving fresh, high-quality meals for residents.
• Planning varied, nutritious menus that cater for dietary, cultural and individual preferences.
• Supporting celebrations, themed events and special occasions with delicious catering.
• Ordering stock within budget and company guidelines using approved suppliers.
• Maintaining accurate food safety records in line with HACCP requirements.
• Ensuring the kitchen consistently meets high standards of cleanliness and hygiene, following all procedures.
• Leading, motivating and supporting members of the catering team.

Location: Llys Hafren Care Home - Shaw healthcare, Severn Rd, Welshpool SY21 7AR

Salary: £13.55 per hour

Working Hours: Bank 0 Hour contract - As/When needed in service *including weekends
