Job summary

Shaw healthcare (Group) Ltd in Carmarthen is seeking a Chef to join the Ty Cwm kitchen on a bank, zero-hour basis. You will prepare and serve nourishing meals for residents, plan menus, and support events, while managing stock and HACCP records. The role requires leadership of the catering team and a commitment to high hygiene standards.

The position offers flexible, on-site work at Ty Cwm with pay of £14.40 per hour and inclusion in Shaw’s employee-owned model and Real Living Wage ethos.

Qualifications

• Experience as a chef in care/hospitality settings.
• Knowledge of HACCP and food safety.
• Ability to work weekends and flexible hours.

Responsibilities

• Preparing, cooking and serving fresh, high-quality meals for residents.
• Planning varied, nutritious menus that cater for dietary, cultural and individual preferences.
• Supporting celebrations, themed events and special occasions with catering.
• Ordering stock within budget and company guidelines using approved suppliers.
• Maintaining accurate food safety records in line with HACCP requirements.
• Ensuring the kitchen meets high standards of cleanliness and hygiene, following procedures.
• Leading, motivating and supporting catering team members.
