Job summary

Ashgate Hospicecare is seeking an enthusiastic Bank Catering Assistant to join the catering team at Ashgate Hospice. You will support the preparation and service of nutritious meals for patients, visitors and staff, ensuring dietary needs and preferences are met with care and dignity.

You will work as part of a friendly team, maintaining high standards of food hygiene and safety while supporting the wider catering service.

Qualifications

• Previous catering experience is helpful, but we are looking for people who are reliable, adaptable, work well as part of a team and share our commitment to compassionate, respectful and inclusive care.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation, presentation and service of meals and beverages for patients, visitors and staff, taking account of individual dietary requirements and preferences.
• Support patients during mealtimes, responding courteously to their needs and helping to maintain their comfort and dignity.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, food hygiene and infection prevention, including cleaning kitchen and dining areas and following relevant procedures.
• Assist with deliveries, stock rotation and appropriate food storage, and work flexibly with catering colleagues and volunteers to support the smooth running of the service.

You will work as part of a friendly team, maintaining high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness and safety while supporting the wider catering service as required.

This is an adhoc and casual bank opportunity, offering flexibility to work shifts when required. Previous catering experience is helpful, but we are looking for people who are reliable, adaptable, work well as part of a team and share our commitment to compassionate, respectful and inclusive care.
