Job summary

Ashgate Hospicecare is looking for a friendly Dining Room Assistant to join our catering team in the cafe and dining room. You will provide a warm service, serve meals and beverages, and manage the till, ensuring a clean, welcoming environment for patients, visitors and staff.

The role supports chefs, Catering Assistants and volunteers, involves basic prep, stock rotation and maintaining high standards of customer service and presentation. 15 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Experience in catering or customer-facing roles preferred.
• Reliable and willing to learn in a busy cafe setting.
• Positive, friendly and approachable customer service.
• Comfortable handling payments at a cafe till.

Responsibilities

• Serve food and beverages to patients, visitors and staff.
• Operate the cafe till and handle payments.
• Set up and maintain a clean, inviting dining area.
• Assist with basic food preparation, stock rotation and cleaning.
