FCAMHS Inreach Service is a 12-month pilot funded by WMCPC, aiming to provide specialist in-reach support, consultation, guidance, and assessment to young people with a forensic profile, experiencing long stays and/or barriers to discharge due to risk. This service specifically offers inreach to inpatient services across the West Midlands.
We seek an enthusiastic, compassionate, and innovative nurse to play a pivotal role in our FCAMHS Inreach Service Pilot. Working alongside a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will jointly manage a caseload and provide intensive inreach support to inpatient units across the West Midlands. Extensive experience in complex case management, inpatient services, and working with young people with forensic risk is required. You should have worked as a senior nurse within community CAMHS or inpatient CAMHS and possess skills in collaboration with MDTs and multiagency networks, along with effective conflict resolution skills and experience managing complex relational dynamics professionally.
Main duties include liaising with inpatient teams both virtually and in person, requiring travel across the West Midlands. You will develop relationships with key partners in the young person's care team and influence assessment, treatment, risk formulation, and management. You will support reviews of restrictive practices, attend ward rounds, MDTs, and other multiagency meetings to support risk planning and reduction, aiming to facilitate timely discharge. Opportunities include conducting clinical interviews with young people and their families/carers, producing risk assessments (e.g., SAVRY), and contributing to joint risk assessments. You will be supported by the Consultant Psychiatrist and the wider Youth First Team, participating in weekly MDT meetings to review referrals for the pilot.
