Surrey

Role: Senior Pharmacy Technician
Banding: Band 5
Location: Epsom
Rate: £19 - £22 per hour
Working hours: 37.5 hours per week

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Senior Technician to join our pharmacy team. This role is essential in supervising the dispensary team and ensuring the efficient supply of medicines to wards and clinics. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing out-of-stock items, sourcing alternatives when necessary, and ensuring timely dispensing and checking of TTOs and in-patient items. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated individual to contribute to patient care in a dynamic and supportive environment

Duties and Responsibilities:

As a Senior Technician, you will supervise the work of the dispensary team, ensuring that medicines are supplied to wards and clinics efficiently. You will follow up on out-of-stock items and source alternatives when necessary. Additionally, you will be responsible for dispensing and checking TTOs and in-patient items in a timely manner, ensuring high standards of patient care. Dispensary cover will also be a key part of your role.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Experience/Knowledge:
    • NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services or Qualified Pharmacy Technician with relevant certification.
    • Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) as a pharmacy technician.
    • Minimum of 2 years’ post-registration NHS hospital pharmacy experience.
    • Previous experience with JAC EPMA is desirable but not essential.
  • Skills/Abilities:
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare professionals.
    • Good organizational skills to manage workload and meet deadlines.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
    • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
