Job summary

Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Housekeeping Manager to lead our Estates & Facilities housekeeping and soft services, delivering safe, patient-centred environments across trust sites.

You will manage a multi-disciplinary team, drive infection prevention, food safety and budgetary controls, and work closely with clinical colleagues to support high standards of cleanliness and wellbeing for patients and staff.

Qualifications

• Management qualification (Level 4) required.
• Level 3 Food Hygiene certification required.
• IOSH qualification required.

As Housekeeping Manager, you will provide operational management and professional leadership for housekeeping and facilities teams, ensuring the delivery of safe, effective and patient-centred services. You will work closely with clinical colleagues, nursing teams and operational managers to ensure high standards of cleanliness, food safety, infection prevention and control, nutrition and hydration are maintained.

Person Specification

• Management qualification e.g. British Institute of Facilities Management Level 4, NVQ Level 4, ILM Level 4 or equivalent
• Level 3 Food Hygiene
• Institute of Occupational Safety and Health qualification

Experience

• Significant experience of managing a multi-disciplinary team within a Healthcare environment
• Significant experience in Facilities in a healthcare setting

Skills and knowledge

• Competent in working with a range of IT packages e.g. MAPS, Microsoft: Excel etc.
• Knowledge of ESR and Business Intelligence
• Competent in managing a budget for services

Personal Qualities

• Ability to work under pressure
• Ability to motivate and lead the team
• Ability to demonstrate leadership skills

Other job requirements

• To be flexible to the needs of the service
• To be prepared to work alongside staff if and when needed to support delivery of the service
