Job summary

Pulse Nursing is seeking an experienced Accident & Emergency (A&E) Nurse to join the Weston-super-Mare Emergency Department on a Band 5 level. You will provide urgent and critical care, perform rapid assessments, and collaborate with the wider team to deliver timely interventions.

We offer flexible full-time and part-time shifts, a supportive environment, and opportunities to work across days, nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• Valid NMC registration.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
• Willingness to work across various shifts including nights, weekends and days.

Responsibilities

• Triaging patients on arrival and prioritising care.
• Administering initial treatments and stabilising patients.
• Monitoring vital signs and recording changes in patient conditions.
• Assisting the medical team with diagnostics and interpreting results.
• Administering medications and IV therapy as prescribed.

Job Title: Accident & Emergency (A&E) Nurse

Banding: Band 5

Location: Weston-super-Mare

As an Accident & Emergency (A&E) Nurse, you will be an integral part of our Emergency Department team, providing urgent and critical care to patients experiencing various medical emergencies. Your quick decision-making skills, ability to handle high-pressure situations, and compassionate approach will ensure that patients receive timely and efficient care during their most vulnerable moments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Triaging patients upon arrival, assessing their condition, and prioritising care based on the severity of their condition.
• Administering initial treatments and interventions to stabilise patients, providing life‑saving measures when necessary.
• Monitoring and recording vital signs, symptoms, and changes in patients’ conditions.
• Assisting the medical team in performing diagnostic tests and interpreting the results.
• Administering medications and intravenous therapy as prescribed by physicians.
• Access to a dedicated consultant for support and advice

Requirements:

• Valid NMC registration.

• A current DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service) check (Pulse Nursing can help facilitate this).
