Job summary

Pulse Healthcare is seeking a Band 5 Accident & Emergency (A&E) Nurse in Hereford. You will be an integral member of our Emergency Department team, delivering urgent and critical care to patients in medical emergencies and maintaining high standards of patient safety.

Requirements include valid NMC registration, a current DBS check, and the ability to work across nights, weekends and days with excellent communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Triaging patients on arrival and prioritising care based on severity.
• Administering initial treatments and stabilising patients as needed.
• Monitoring vital signs and recording patient changes.
• Assisting the medical team with diagnostic tests and interpreting results.
• Administering medications and IV therapy as prescribed.

As an Accident & Emergency (A&E) Nurse, you will be an integral part of our Emergency Department team, providing urgent and critical care to patients experiencing various medical emergencies. Your quick decision-making skills, ability to handle high-pressure situations, and compassionate approach will ensure that patients receive timely and efficient care during their most vulnerable moments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Triaging patients upon arrival, assessing their condition, and prioritising care based on the severity of their condition.
• Administering initial treatments and interventions to stabilise patients, providing life‑saving measures when necessary.
• Monitoring and recording vital signs, symptoms, and changes in patients’ conditions.
• Assisting the medical team in performing diagnostic tests and interpreting the results.
• Administering medications and intravenous therapy as prescribed by physicians.
• Access to a dedicated consultant for support and advice.
