Job summary

Enva is seeking a Baler Operative in Colwick to safely operate baling equipment and process recyclable materials, ensuring materials are sorted, compacted, stored and prepared for dispatch in line with company procedures, quality standards and health and safety requirements.

You will monitor baler performance, report faults, maintain bale quality, perform routine inspections, and assist with loading, housekeeping and material movement while adhering to site procedures and environmental

Qualifications

• Knowledge of health and safety practices in an industrial environment.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet production targets.
• Basic literacy and numeracy.
• Flexible approach to shift patterns.

Responsibilities

• Operate baling machinery safely and efficiently to process recyclable materials.
• Monitor baler performance and report faults, damage, or maintenance requirements.
• Ensure all bales meet required specifications (weight, density, quality).
• Conduct routine inspections and basic housekeeping around the baling area.
• Remove contamination from materials to maintain product quality.
• Maintain accurate production records and complete paperwork as required.
• Assist with loading, unloading and movement of materials using authorised equipment.
• Ensure work areas are clean, tidy and hazard-free.
• Follow site procedures, safe systems of work and environmental regulations.
• Support other operational activities as directed by management.
• Work with colleagues to achieve production targets and site objectives.
• Report accidents, near misses and environmental incidents immediately.
