Job summary

Enva is seeking a Recycling Operative in Colwick for a permanent, full-time role within the Operations department. The position involves sorting recyclable materials on a moving conveyor, removing contaminants, and ensuring safety and quality standards are met.

You will work in an indoor recycling facility with exposure to noise and varying temperatures, and may undertake shift work including evenings, nights, weekends and holidays as required.

Qualifications

• Ability to work in a fast-paced industrial environment.
• Good attention to detail and ability to identify different recyclable materials.
• Physically fit and able to stand for extended periods.
• Ability to follow safety instructions and procedures.
• Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented.
• Previous experience in recycling, waste management, manufacturing, or warehouse operations is advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Sort and separate recyclable materials such as paper, cardboard, plastics, metals, and glass from a conveyor belt.
• Remove non-recyclable, contaminated, or hazardous items from the waste stream.
• Maintain quality standards by ensuring materials are correctly segregated.
• Monitor the conveyor line and report equipment faults or operational issues.
• Keep the work area clean and free from hazards.
• Follow all health, safety, and environmental procedures.
• Assist with housekeeping duties and general plant operations as required.
• Wear and properly use personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Work effectively as part of a team to meet production targets.
