Job summary

Enva in Colwick is seeking a Baler Operative to safely run baling equipment and process recyclable materials. You will monitor performance, maintain quality, and keep production records in a busy recycling environment.

The role requires flexibility for shift patterns, strong attention to safety, and excellent teamwork to achieve site targets. Permanent full-time position in Operations.

Baler Operative

Description

The Baler Operative is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of baling equipment used in the processing of recyclable materials. The role ensures materials are sorted, compacted, stored, and prepared for dispatch in accordance with company procedures, quality standards, and health and safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate baling machinery safely and efficiently to process recyclable materials.
• Monitor baler performance and report any faults, damage, or maintenance requirements.
• Ensure all bales are produced to required specifications, including weight, density, and quality standards.
• Conduct routine inspections and basic housekeeping around the baling area.
• Remove contamination from materials where required to maintain product quality.
• Maintain accurate production records and complete operational paperwork as required.
• Assist with loading, unloading, and movement of materials using authorised equipment.
• Ensure work areas are kept clean, tidy, and free from hazards.
• Follow all site procedures, safe systems of work, and environmental regulations.
• Support other operational activities across the site as directed by management.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve production targets and site objectives.
• Report accidents, near misses, unsafe conditions, and environmental incidents immediately.

• Wear and maintain required PPE at all times.
• Participate in safety briefings, toolbox talks, and training sessions.
