About the Bakery Sales Development Manager job

We’re looking for a highly self-motivated Bakery Sales Development Manager with strong communication skills and a passion for driving sales growth. Focused on generating new business opportunities—particularly within the foodservice and wholesale sectors—you’ll play a key role in executing the company’s sales strategy, expanding their customer base, and supporting overall business growth.

Key tasks

  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships through regular UK visits and weekly meetings with existing and potential clients.
  • Proactively generate leads, explore new markets, and respond to customer inquiries to drive business growth.
  • Accurately process orders and maintain up-to-date records in the internal database.
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to meet targets, while working closely with marketing, sales, and product teams to align efforts.

About You

  • The successful candidate shall have a minimum of 3 years’ sales experience selling into foodservice and/or wholesale with essential knowledge of bakery products and industry trends.
  • A proven track record of exceeding sales targets and building strong short- and long-term customer relationships.
  • Skilled in business development, negotiation, forecasting, and reporting, with a results-driven approach and strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Must have experience selling ambient bakery products and be based within a 1-hour radius of Leicester.

The Bakery Sales Development Manager job (ref:8883) is paying £40,000 - £45,000 + commission, car/car allowance according to your experience.

The site is located in Leicester and is commutable from Market Harborough, Melton Mowbray, Coalville, Loughborough, Derby, Coventry, Corby, Kettering, Rugby, and Loughborough (Leicestershire, Derbyshire, and Northamptonshire).

The working hours are Monday to Friday.
