Job summary

Warburtons in Burnley is seeking a Semi-Skilled Engineer to join our Engineering & Maintenance team. The role focuses on planned and preventative maintenance of bakery equipment, buildings and services to keep the site running safely and reliably.

You will perform condition monitoring, lubrication checks and inspections, while coordinating with external contractors. Training and hands-on development are provided in a busy manufacturing environment, with a strong Health & Safety culture.

Qualifications

• Good mechanical engineering or maintenance skills, gained in a practical, hands-on environment.
• Experience of carrying out planned or preventative maintenance activities.
• Ability to complete equipment checks and identify wear, deterioration or potential faults.
• Understanding of lubrication, oil checks and basic condition monitoring.
• Some experience of building or facilities maintenance.
• Strong Health & Safety focus and ability to raise concerns when something isn’t right.
• Good communication and teamwork with colleagues and external contractors.
• Proactive in planning and recording maintenance work.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality engineering service across the site, maintaining bakery equipment, buildings, infrastructure and services.
• Carry out condition-based monitoring on machinery and lubrication checks.
• Coordinate with external contractors and support planned site works.
• Maintain health and safety standards and SAP PM records.
