Warburtons is launching Bakery 41 in Wakefield and seeks an established Site Engineering Manager to build the engineering function from the ground up, setting the standards for a safe, high-performing operation. You will lead strategy, asset care, governance and capability, shaping how engineering operates from day one.

Working with the Site Lead and central Engineering and Manufacturing Excellence teams, you will embed robust systems and ways of working, drive reliability, and ensure

Qualifications

• Recognised engineering qualification (HNC/HND/Degree) or equivalent.
• Significant engineering leadership experience in fast-paced manufacturing (food/FMCG).
• Experience developing and implementing engineering strategies, systems and ways of working.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the engineering strategy for Bakery 41.
• Establish engineering systems, governance and standards for a modern bakery.
• Create and embed asset care and maintenance strategy (preventative/planned).
• Build engineering capability and culture centred on safety and reliability.
• Develop the engineering organisational structure and team.
• Set engineering KPIs, reporting and performance measures.
• Ensure engineering compliance and fulfil Engineering Duty Holder responsibilities.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Production, HSE, Supply Chain and Manufacturing Excellence.
• Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, productivity and asset performance.
• Support capital investment and engineering improvement programmes.
