Job summary

Warburtons in Burnley is recruiting a Semi-Skilled Engineer to keep bakery equipment, buildings and services in top condition. You’ll perform condition monitoring, lubrication checks and planned maintenance, working with external contractors to coordinate site tasks.

Focused on health and safety, this hands-on role requires practical engineering training or apprenticeship and a proactive approach to maintaining assets and reliability across the site.

Qualifications

• Strong practical mechanical maintenance skills in a manufacturing setting.
• Experience with planned or preventative maintenance.
• Ability to read equipment checks and identify wear or faults.
• Understanding of lubrication, oil checks and condition monitoring.
• Experience in building or facilities maintenance.
• Strong Health & Safety focus and ability to raise concerns.
• Good communication and teamwork with contractors.
• Structured engineering training or apprenticeship completed.

Responsibilities

• Carry out condition-based monitoring on bakery machinery.
• Perform planned maintenance inspections and lubrication checks.
• Coordinate and support planned work with external contractors.
• Record and manage maintenance activity through SAP PM.
• Keep bakery equipment, buildings and services in reliable condition.
