Haddenham Garden Centre is a family owned business which has been established for over 45 years. We currently have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and hands on Bakery Assistant to join our Bakery Chef in our Kitchen to make a range of homemade bakery products. The working hours will be 8 hours per week split across two weekdays. The exact days and hours can be flexible.

The Purpose of the role:

This role will be based in our Bakery / Kitchen, where high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness and organisation are expected at all times. You will be required to work closely with the Bakery Chef to ensure a consistent supply of fresh bakery products for the business, whilst complying with all food safety legislation, procedures and standards. Flexibility and a positive, team-focused approach will be essential to meet the needs of the bakery.

Are you the person we are looking for?

Above all, we are looking for someone who enjoys baking, takes pride in their work and has a keen eye for detail. The role will involve following recipes, accurately weighing and measuring ingredients, preparing a variety of bakery products and maintaining consistent quality and presentation. A positive attitude, willingness to learn and the ability to follow instructions are essential.

Previous experience in baking or a food preparation environment would be an advantage, although a willingness to learn and develop new skills is equally important. The successful candidate must be organised, reliable and capable of working independently on basic tasks once trained, whilst also working effectively as part of the kitchen team. The role will involve standing for periods of time, handling ingredients and equipment, and carrying out general bakery duties whilst maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene.
