Job summary

Klondyke is seeking a Part Time Permanent Artisan Baker to join the team in our Restaurant at Strikes Garden Centre. The role involves producing a range of freshly baked goods daily, including scones, cakes and desserts, and requires enthusiasm for quality and freshness to delight customers.

You will follow recipes, operate baking equipment, decorate baked items and coordinate with the Chef/Restaurant Manager to plan production.

Qualifications

• Accomplished and experienced Artisan baker.
• Knowledge of food production techniques and baking principles.
• Familiarity with kitchen equipment and utensils used in baking.
• Passion for quality, freshness and presentation.
• Understanding of food hygiene requirements.

Responsibilities

• Daily production of freshly baked scones, cakes and desserts.
• Follow recipes and schedules to ensure quality and quantity.
• Measure and mix ingredients; operate ovens, mixers, and dough sheeters.
• Decorate and present baked goods appealingly.
• Plan production with Chef/Restaurant Manager.
• Monitor stock and assist with ordering.
• Minimise waste; maintain hygiene standards.
• Close bakery and prep for next day.

Job description

We are looking for a Part Time Permanent Baker to join the team in our Restaurant in Strikes Garden Centre.

Our competitive rates of pay start at £13.27 per hourdependent on experience.

The hours for this role are 16 per week over 2days. Weekend work may be required in this role so flexibility is a must.

The Role

As a Artisan Baker you will work as part of the kitchen team to produce a range of freshly baked goods each day. You’ll be enthusiastic and passionate about quality and freshness and produce that special something for our customers to have at the end of their meal.

What you will be doing as an Artisan Baker?

• You will be responsible for the daily production of freshly baked scones, cakes and desserts.
• Follow recipes and production schedules to ensure consistent quality and quantity of baked goods
• Measure and mix ingredients according to recipes and portion sizes. Operate baking equipment such as ovens, mixers, and dough sheeters.
• Decorate and present baked goods in an appealing manner
• Work closely with the Chef/Restaurant Manager to plan production.
• Monitor stock levels and contribute towards the ordering process
• Work efficiently to ensure low levels of waste
• Carry out cleaning of equipment and working areas to the highest food hygiene standards
• Close down bakery area each day including preparation for the following day.
