Job summary

Royal & Derngate in Northampton is seeking a Stage Door Receptionist to be the friendly first point of contact for cast, crew, visitors and contractors, ensuring a warm welcome while safeguarding backstage areas.

In this fast-paced theatre environment you will support rehearsals, performances and community activity, manage access, passes, calls, post and deliveries, and coordinate information across production and engagement teams.

Qualifications

• Experience in a reception, front-of-house, or customer-facing role.
• Experience in a busy, fast-paced environment.
• Understanding of confidentiality, safeguarding, and security procedures.
• Experience handling phone enquiries and administrative tasks.

Responsibilities

• Provide a professional, welcoming front-of-house presence for cast, crew and visitors.
• Manage sign-in, issue passes, and direct backstage enquiries.
• Answer calls, receive and distribute post and deliveries.
• Monitor access to backstage, CCTV and alarms; maintain logs.
• Support artists and visiting companies with practical queries.
• Keep call sheets and contact lists up-to-date.
• Log incidents and provide general administrative support.
• Maintain a tidy, welcoming stage door environment.
