Job summary

Client Server is seeking a strong backend software engineer to join our UK team. You will build and scale cloud-native services in Python or C#, and help shape architecture for a diverse portfolio of insurance products spanning international businesses.

We value AI-minded engineers, collaboration, and experience with React/Angular frontends and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure). Hybrid work from our London City office available.

Qualifications

• Backend software engineering experience with Python or C#.
• Strong CS fundamentals including OOP, multithreading, patterns, and system design.
• Frontend understanding with React or Angular; connectivity between front-end and back-end.
• Hands-on cloud-native architectures (Azure/AWS), microservices, CI/CD, Terraform, Kubernetes, and Docker.
• Interest in applying AI to processes and products; Claude or similar tools preferred.
• Collaborative, communicative, and problem-solving mindset; startup or small-team experience desired.

• Help build the technology platform behind a diverse portfolio of insurance products across international businesses.
• Explore how AI can improve engineering productivity and product value.
• Utilize Claude alongside solid software design principles and best practices.

Job description

Salary: £40,000 - 70,000 per year

Requirements:

• Strong backend software engineering skills with Python or C# (or both)
• Strong knowledge of computer science fundamentals such as OOP, multithreading, design patterns, and system design
• Understanding of what makes a good frontend and how to ensure connectivity between front-end and back-end systems; React or Angular skills preferred
• Good understanding of cloud-native architectures (Azure / AWS), event-driven systems, microservices, CI/CD, Terraform, Kubernetes, and Docker
• Keen to use and adopt more AI into processes and the product; experience with Claude or other AI tools preferred
• Collaborative with great communication and problem-solving skills
• Ideally experience in a start-up or small team environment
