Job summary

Bright Purple is hiring an AI-first Software Engineer to join our London/Edinburgh core product team. You will help shape a high-performance, real-time data engine and own design decisions while remaining hands-on through the full development lifecycle.

You will work in a hybrid setup with two office days per week, collaborating with a small team and delivering robust architecture, documentation, and best practices to support energy tech leadership.

Qualifications

• Strong C# and .NET expertise with real-time systems design.
• Solid database experience.
• Confidence using AI-assisted coding tools and agentic workflows day to day.
• Familiarity with Agile environments and collaborative code review.
• Git and Azure DevOps knowledge.
• A strong communicator, able to translate technical detail for non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Driving the evolution of our platform architecture, spotting opportunities to improve performance, scalability and resilience.
• Owning technical design decisions while staying hands-on through the full development lifecycle, from concept to delivery.
• Championing engineering best practice, clean structure, testability and solid documentation.
• Supporting cloud operations across Microsoft Azure, including App Services, CI/CD pipelines and Azure Front Door.
• Staying ahead of the curve on emerging tools and techniques, including AI-assisted and agentic development workflows.
