ExTrac AI in London seeks a Software Engineer to build and run backend microservices that power decision intelligence platforms. You’ll work on Go and Python services, APIs, and data pipelines, collaborating with AI, frontend, analysts, and product teams.

The role combines design, delivery, and production reliability in a fast‑moving environment. You’ll join a cross‑functional team in a hybrid setup with regular days in our central London office and up to 3 remote days per week.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional software engineering experience building and shipping production‑grade services
• Proficiency in building microservices with Go or Python, with ability to pick up the other quickly
• Practical understanding of software engineering patterns
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, including documenting requirements and technical details
• Interest across the stack: deployment pipelines, database behavior, and security engineering
• Willingness to incorporate analyst feedback into requirements discussions

Responsibilities

• Build and own features, components, and APIs end to end within a single system
• Contribute to system design and architecture discussions as context grows
• Develop Go and Python microservices for data collection, processing, and querying
• Maintain production standards for latency, cost, and reliability with proper instrumentation
• Operate high-throughput data streaming pipelines and optimize performance
• Collaborate with analysts, product, and frontend teams to deliver cross‑functional features
• Contribute to shared foundations like deployment pipelines, service templates, and observability
