Job summary

ExTrac is seeking a Software Engineer to join its engineering team to help build and operate the services and pipelines the platform runs on. You will own Go and Python microservices, APIs, and databases to support data collection, processing, and querying.

The role spans API design, search and database performance, data pipelines, cloud infrastructure, and deployment tooling, collaborating with AI, frontend, analysts, and product managers to deliver cross-functional features.

Qualifications

• Experience building production backend systems with Go and Python
• Ability to own features or components end to end within a larger system
• Familiarity with microservices, APIs, and databases used at scale
• Understanding of latency, cost, and reliability in production services
• Experience with data pipelines, streaming, and infrastructure as code
• Experience with security, observability, and deployment pipelines

Responsibilities

• Build and own features, components, and APIs end to end within a system.
• Design and contribute to system architecture discussions.
• Develop Go and Python microservices to handle data collection, processing, and querying.
• Ensure production standards for latency, cost, and reliability and build instrumentation.
• Operate high-throughput data streaming pipelines and improve scalability and latency.
• Optimize databases and index performance to support product behavior.
• Collaborate with analysts, product and frontend teams to deliver cross-functional features.
