Job summary

Deliveroo is seeking a Software Engineer, Backend for the Core BI team in London. You will build and operate backend services and APIs powering BI platforms used across the organization, with a focus on reliability, security and scalability.

You’ll own problems from discovery to deployment, collaborating with data engineers, data scientists and product managers. The role embraces hands-on engineering, platform automation and strong emphasis on developer experience.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience building and operating production backend systems.
• Readable, maintainable, well-tested Python code with SQL and data warehousing concepts.
• Experience building and owning APIs, integrations or automation in production with clear service boundaries and data contracts.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, deploy and operate backend services and APIs for BI platforms.
• Automate the platform lifecycle end to end (provisioning, metadata, permissions, migrations).
• Build integrations between BI platforms and wider ecosystem (warehouses, identity providers, CI/CD).
• Improve availability, observability, performance, scalability and security of systems.
