Job summary

DoorDash’s Core BI team builds and operates production systems around BI platforms, focusing on backend services, APIs, integrations, automation, access and governance, observability, reliability and developer experience.

You will own problems from discovery through design, implementation, deployment, and operational support, working with Data Engineers, Analytics Engineers, Data Scientists, Software Engineers and business teams to turn recurring needs into durable, self-service capabilities.

Qualifications

• At least two years of professional software engineering experience building production backend or data-platform systems.
• Proficient in Python or another general-purpose language; strong code quality.
• Solid SQL skills and understanding of data modelling.
• Experience building APIs, integrations, or automation with clear data contracts.
• Experience operating software in production, including CI/CD and monitoring.
• Able to own problems end-to-end and work with cross-functional teams.
• Clear communication in a fast-paced, distributed environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, deploy, and operate backend services and APIs for BI platforms.
• Automate metadata, permissions, migrations, and content lifecycles.
• Improve platform availability, observability, performance, and security.
• Develop self-service tools for analytics teams.
• Support migrations and deprecations while protecting governance and data integrity.
• Participate in production debugging and incident response.
