Job summary

Ikigai Digital is a remote-first boutique Financial Services consultancy focused on building, launching and operating digital banks. As a Backend Software Engineer for the EMEA region, you will support clients, define practices, and mentor engineers while delivering reliable, scalable backend services.

You will work within a globally distributed team, collaborate across disciplines, and contribute to architectural decisions.

Qualifications

• Expertise in Java, Kotlin, Python, or JavaScript/TypeScript across backend services.
• Experience building cloud-based applications and delivering production-grade systems.
• Ability to mentor engineers and influence engineering practices in a distributed team.

Responsibilities

• Support clients in delivering value to their customers.
• Define and refine engineering practices and standards.
• Mentor engineers and empower the team.
• Design, build and maintain backend solutions to meet client needs.
• Drive non-functional requirements like performance, latency, scalability, availability, disaster recovery and security.
