Job summary

Fractal Analytics UK Limited is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, build, and support scalable backend services for banking and financial services.

You will lead architectures, mentor engineers, and collaborate with product, security, and operations to deliver resilient, cloud-native microservices in a fast-paced, on-site London environment. The role requires strong hands-on coding with Java/Kotlin, AWS and distributed systems expertise.

Qualifications

• Experience with Java and Kotlin in production banking/fintech contexts.
• Experience building cloud-native microservices and distributed systems.
• Knowledge of security, compliance, and operational risk in fintech.
• Ability to lead and mentor engineers.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and support scalable backend services, APIs, and cloud-native microservices.
• Build distributed and event-driven systems using messaging and asynchronous processing patterns.
• Drive engineering excellence through architecture, coding standards, testing, and automation.
• Support production systems, incident management, troubleshooting, and operational resilience.
• Balance long-term architecture goals with short-term delivery priorities.
• Collaborate across engineering teams, product owners, architects, and business stakeholders.
• Mentor engineers, foster knowledge sharing, and shape technical direction.
