Job summary

Skyports is seeking a Mid-Level Software Engineer (Backend and Integrations) in London (Hybrid) to join Infrastructure Services on a 12-month fixed-term contract. You will build backend services for charging orchestration and lead the integration with a partner eVTOL charging company, while collaborating with a frontend developer and other teams.

The role emphasizes hands-on coding, real-time data processing, and travel within the UK.

Qualifications

• Backend experience with production Go services and databases.

Responsibilities

• Build the backend: design, build and maintain the backend services and APIs behind our charging orchestration software.
• Own the charging integration: lead the technical integration with a partner eVTOL charging company’s systems, from interfaces to testing with their engineers.
• Work with real-time data: build event-driven services handling live charging and operational data with fault tolerance.
• Build the platform: provision and manage Azure infrastructure using Terraform; contribute to pipelines and observability.
• Collaborate with frontend, product and operations to turn requirements into working features.
• Represent Skyports externally in meetings with partners and consortium members, explaining approaches clearly.
