Job summary

Skyports Infrastructure is seeking a mid-level Software Engineer focused on backend and integration for charging software. You will build the backend services and APIs behind the charging orchestration, and lead the technical integration with a partner eVTOL charging company’s systems.

You’ll work alongside a frontend developer to deliver a joined-up product and may travel within the UK. The role emphasizes hands-on engineering, real-time data handling, and Terraform-managed Azure

Qualifications

• Experience building production Go backend services.
• Hands-on Azure cloud engineering with IaC (Terraform).
• Experience designing and consuming REST/gRPC APIs.
• Familiarity with event-driven architectures (Kafka/Azure Event Hubs).
• Knowledge of AI coding agents in daily workflows.

Responsibilities

• Build, maintain and scale the backend services behind charging orchestration software.
• Own the charging integration with partner eVTOL systems and interfaces.
• Work with real-time data and event streams with reliable handling of failures.
• Provision Azure infrastructure using Terraform and shape the platform.
• Collaborate with frontend, product and operations to turn requirements into features.
• Travel within the UK and possibly overseas as needed.
