Job summary

British Airways is seeking a B1 Licenced Aircraft Engineer to join the Gatwick Line Maintenance team, working on the A320 family and B777. You will certify maintenance, troubleshoot faults, and support live flying operations to keep aircraft in service.

The 2 days / 2 nights, 12-hour shift pattern provides a predictable rhythm within a 24/7 operation. There are opportunities to develop on future aircraft programs and access extensive training pathways.

Qualifications

• Unrestricted UK CAA Part-66 B1 licence with appropriate aircraft type rating.
• Recent aircraft certification experience.
• Ability to work in a busy operational environment with safety focus.
• Dual-licensed B1/B2 is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Certify and carry out maintenance on A320 family and B777 aircraft.
• Support day-to-day flying programme to ensure safe, compliant operations.
• Troubleshoot and rectify technical defects in a fast-moving environment.
• Support and manage aircraft casualties to return to service.
• Complete scheduled and planned maintenance for Gatwick Line Maintenance.
• Lead and supervise maintenance activity and provide technical guidance.
• Collaborate with Operations, Maintrol, Planning and other Engineering teams.
• Ensure accurate maintenance records using digital systems.
• Maintain high standards of safety, compliance and professionalism.
