Job summary

British Airways is seeking a B2 Licenced Aircraft Engineer for the Gatwick Line Maintenance team. You will certify and service A320 family and B777 aircraft, diagnose faults, and support a 2 days / 2 nights roster within a busy, live flying operation.

The role involves leading maintenance activity, using digital records, and collaborating with B1 engineers and other teams to maintain safety and operational standards.

Qualifications

• Unrestricted UK CAA Part-66 B2 Licence with appropriate aircraft type rating.
• Recent aircraft certification experience.
• UK Driving Licence or equivalent.
• Strong fault-finding and technical problem-solving capability.
• Practical, safety-focused approach in a busy operational environment.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Certify and carry out maintenance on A320 family and B777 aircraft per licence and procedures.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot and rectify electrical, avionics and system defects.
• Support daily flying programme, ensuring safe, compliant maintenance.
• Provide technical input during casualties and complex defect investigations.
• Support scheduled and planned maintenance by Gatwick Line Maintenance team.
• Lead and supervise maintenance activity within area of expertise; mentor colleagues.
• Collaborate with B1 engineers, Operations, Maintrol, Planning and other teams.
• Ensure accurate maintenance records using digital systems.
• Maintain highest safety, compliance and professional standards.
