Job summary

British Airways is seeking a B2 Licenced Aircraft Engineer to join the Gatwick Line Maintenance team. You will diagnose and repair electrical, avionics and systems faults, and carry out maintenance on A320 family and B777 aircraft.

The role operates a 2 days / 2 nights pattern with 12-hour shifts, offering varied work within a busy live flying programme. Opportunities to gain experience on future B787 / GEnx technology are highlighted.

Qualifications

• Unrestricted UK CAA Part-66 B2 licence with an appropriate aircraft type rating.
• Recent aircraft certification experience.
• UK driving licence or equivalent.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving capability.
• Ability to work effectively in a busy operational environment.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Certify and carry out maintenance on our A320 family and B777 aircraft, in accordance with your licence, approvals and company procedures
• Diagnose, troubleshoot and rectify electrical, avionics and aircraft system defects
• Support the day-to-day flying programme, ensuring aircraft are maintained safely, compliantly and efficiently
• Provide technical expertise during aircraft casualties and complex defect investigations
• Support scheduled and planned maintenance activity undertaken by the Gatwick Line Maintenance team
• Lead and supervise maintenance activity within your area of expertise, providing technical guidance to colleagues
• Work collaboratively with B1 engineers, Operations, Maintrol, Planning and other Engineering teams
• Ensure accurate completion of maintenance records and documentation using our digital systems
• Maintain the highest standards of safety, compliance and engineering professionalism
