Job summary

Jobtailor in the United Kingdom is seeking an experienced infrastructure specialist to drive a major transformation programme, consolidating multiple accountancy firms into a centralised Microsoft Azure environment. You will manage Nutanix, Windows Server, Citrix and Entra ID, and administer Microsoft 365 and Active Directory.

The role focuses on migrating servers and applications to Azure, enhancing network and cloud security, delivering Level 3 support, and coordinating with stakeholders

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, including Virtual Machines, Networking, Storage, Azure Migrate and Entra ID
• Proven experience delivering infrastructure migration and transformation projects
• Experience migrating from VMware/Hyper-V and existing cloud platforms such as Azure and AWS
• Strong understanding of networking, VPNs, firewalls, routing, cloud security, backup and disaster recovery
• Experience with Microsoft 365 tenant migrations, identity management and hybrid environments
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Good understanding of security, resilience, availability and governance within enterprise IT environments
• Experience within professional services or accountancy firms is desirable
• Familiarity with CCH, IRIS, Caseware, Sage 50 accountancy and payroll is desirable
• Linux experience is desirable
• Veeam experience is desirable
• PowerShell, including PowerShell for Exchange, is desirable
• Experience in professional services, financial services or accountancy firms is desirable

Responsibilities

• Support a major transformation programme consolidating multiple accountancy firms into a centralised Microsoft Azure environment
• Manage and maintain Nutanix, Windows Server, Citrix and wider infrastructure
• Administer Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Active Directory and key business applications
• Manage and troubleshoot LAN, WAN, WLAN, routing and other network infrastructure
• Plan and deliver infrastructure upgrades, migrations and modernisation
• Migrate servers, virtual machines, storage, file services and applications to Azure
• Support tenant consolidation, identity integration and hybrid/cloud transformation across multiple entities
• Assess and document on‑premises, hybrid and cloud environments and develop migration strategies
• Provide Level 3 technical support and resolve complex infrastructure issues
• Maintain security, compliance and governance standards
• Work with project stakeholders to manage migration projects, risks and documentation
• Provide technical handover and knowledge transfer to internal teams
