Job summary

Bromcom Computers is seeking a DevOps Team Manager to lead a 3–4 engineer team and ensure reliable, secure operation of the Azure‑first SaaS platform. 70% hands‑on engineering and 30% people management form the core balance.

You will champion operational controls, CI/CD, IaC, security and incident response, while mentoring engineers and driving continuous improvement across the platform.

Qualifications

• Proven line‑management experience leading a DevOps/CloudOps or platform team with recruitment, objectives, appraisals and performance management.
• Hands‑on experience in DevOps, cloud or platform engineering, with 70% hands‑on work and 30% people management.
• Evidence of implementing and maintaining operational controls, processes and procedures in a DevOps/CloudOps environment.
• Practical command of end‑to‑end change and release governance including risk classification, reviews, testing, approvals and rollback.
• Deep Azure platform expertise across Entra ID, Key Vault, App Gateway, VNets, Azure SQL/MySQL, WAF and DNS.
• Strong CI/CD and IaC knowledge across Azure DevOps pipelines and Bicep/ARM for Windows and Linux workloads.
• Experience operating production, multi‑tenant SaaS at scale with SLA/SLO ownership and on‑call duties.
• Experience working with security, compliance and audit teams in regulated environments.
• Knowledge of using Claude, GitHub Copilot or Codex as engineering delivery tools with governance.

Responsibilities

• Lead, line‑manage and develop a team of 3–4 DevOps engineers, including at least one senior engineer.
• Set clear role boundaries, decisions rights and escalation routes for high‑risk activities.
• Own team capacity, on‑call rota and production incident response responsibilities.
• Build an accountable coaching culture to raise risk awareness and ensure evidence and learning from incidents.
• Provide hands‑on engineering leadership for the Azure‑hosted, multi‑tenant SaaS platform.
• Set and maintain engineering standards for Azure architecture, DevOps, Bicep/ARM and security.
• Challenge designs using risk and maintainability considerations with senior engineers.
• Own platform SLAs/SLOs, major‑incident command and disaster recovery planning.
