Job summary

AVEVA is seeking a Software Engineer to join the Core AI Services team in Cambridge. You will design, develop, and scale AI-enabled platform services and public APIs that are secure, reliable, and cloud-native.

You will work in an agile Scrum team delivering production-grade AI capabilities with a startup mindset. Ideal candidates have 2+ years in software engineering, experience with RESTful APIs, security practices, and deploying cloud-native services using Docker/Kubernetes on Azure, and a

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of professional software engineering experience, preferably in platform or cloud-native service development.
Strong understanding of RESTful API design, versioning, testing and lifecycle management.
Experience securing APIs, authentication/authorization and data privacy practices.
Practical experience deploying scalable cloud-native services with PaaS, Docker and Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

Build scalable, fault‑tolerant cloud‑native services on Microsoft Azure.
Develop and refine secure, well‑documented public APIs and SDKs using ASP.NET Core and C#.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver end‑to‑end solutions across data pipelines, orchestration, and service APIs.
Embed robust security controls to protect sensitive data and ensure secure access to AI services.
Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and implementation discussions to ensure engineering excellence.
