Job summary

Amazon Data Services UK Limited is seeking a Data Center Manager to lead our high-density data centers responsible for uptime, safety and performance. You will oversee rack installation, maintenance, and decommissioning while guiding technical and operations teams to deliver reliable cloud infrastructure.

The role emphasizes applying new technologies, building internal tools, and driving continuous improvement across processes and teams to meet aggressive pace and scale.

Qualifications

• Experience communicating complex business concepts in verbal and written form.
• Experience managing people and leading a team.
• Experience in crisis management and planning.
• Experience with budgeting, scheduling and cost reports.

Responsibilities

• Owning and managing the complete lifecycle of data center infrastructure — including rack installation, break-fix maintenance, and decommissioning.
• Leveraging Generative AI and emerging technologies to build in-house tools, automate operational workflows, and drive continuous improvement across the team.
• Managing and developing teams of technicians, providing both technical and leadership expertise and ensuring highest levels of performance.
• Maintaining existing co-located and in-house Data Centers.
• Helping build and bring online new Data Centers.
• Constantly improving all our processes and procedures.
• Assisting & managing relationships with external vendors & contractors.
• Liaising with internal teams & management groups.
• Ensuring we adhere to and exceed local Health & Safety standards in all our Data Centers
• Creating and maintaining metrics on all aspects of our Data Centers and utilizing those metrics to drive positive changes
• Assisting in implementing service methodologies including incident management, problem management, change management and capacity management
