Job summary

Amazon UK Services Ltd. is seeking a focused Security Engineer to lead response efforts across AWS. The role blends attacker/defender mindset with scalable tooling, incident response, and risk-based decision making to protect customers and the organization.

You will work with diverse teams to design cohesive security responses, mentor colleagues, and drive automation at scale while balancing technical and business risks in a high-pressure environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS or equivalent.
• Knowledge of HTTP, DNS and TCP/IP protocols.
• Experience programming in Python, Java, or C++.
• Information security certification.
• Threat modeling or risk identification experience.
• Experience implementing security solutions at business level.

Responsibilities

• Respond confidently to security incidents and prevent repeat incidents.
• Coordinate responses across teams during security events.
• Build security utilities to enable high speed, large scale operations.
• Evaluate security trends and coordinate appropriate actions.
• Communicate effectively with multiple audiences and levels.
• Mentor junior staff and share knowledge within the team.
• Fulfil regular on-call responsibilities.
