Job summary

Amazon AWS Security Incident Response is seeking a Security Engineer I to join a fast-paced team responsible for threat detection and incident response across customer environments. The role emphasizes learning, collaboration, and communicating complex security concepts to non-technical audiences.

You will monitor networks and systems, triage alerts, document suspicious activity, and work with AWS services to detect and mitigate threats at scale.

Qualifications

• Experience with web protocols and common security attacks.
• Ability to write code or scripts with some assistance.
• Knowledge of computer systems, networks, and operating systems.

Responsibilities

• Respond to threat findings indicating unauthorized activity.
• Identify, evaluate and communicate security threats, risks and vulnerabilities, and propose remediation.
• Contribute to development of security automation and security posture improvements.
• Track and report on effectiveness of AWS detective controls such as GuardDuty and partner products.
• Develop processes and policies to increase security response effectiveness.
• On-call support: periodic on-call responsibilities including weekends.
• Hold or obtain and maintain UK Government Security Clearance.
